So, in my opinion, I think you can tell in your gut if someone is being authentic. You can hear it in their voice, see it in their eyes, perhaps they have a certain touch. But if you can't tell, then maybe it rests with you being able to receive. That's ultimately a choice you make within yourself. Then again, we don't always have to forgive others. Sometimes the pain is too great. Or, we aren't ready. The work rests always within you; it's your perception, no matter if you're the giver or the receiver. There is a book that may give you greater understanding about this subject; it's called Finding Forgiveness.

Maybe it will help you come to terms with your concerns.

There is also a very simple explanation about this, if you're a Biblical person, in Eclesiastes 3:1-8, where Solomon talks about there being a time for everything. You may find your answer there.

All my best,
JackieAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505661913107994459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792745986850454057.post-8962249471607309152008-03-14T18:10:00.000-07:002008-03-14T18:10:00.000-07:00How do you know when you have received an "authent...How do you know when you have received an "authentic" apology? I have apolgized in the past and genuinely meant it. Unfortunately, the person on the receiving end has yet forgive. I miss having them as a part of my life. Do you think the receiver should dictate when an apology is appropriate?

To quote you, "we're human; we make mistakes".

MichelleMichellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14540251734919213226noreply@blogger.com
