When you start looking into them, you...Alexandra,

When you start looking into them, you see that they involve science, mythology, the metaphysical. There's just so much inside this space with only one way in and one way out. That's why a labyrinth is not the same thing as a maze. Perhaps there's one near you. Some churches, spiritual centers and resorts have them. You might want to do some research to find one in your area.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505661913107994459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792745986850454057.post-74104234928504906982010-05-27T14:24:57.875-07:002010-05-27T14:24:57.875-07:00This is such a cool post, Jackie! Focusing on what inspires me has been a great tool to do that this month. I'm getting a lot more accomplished than I would have had I not, I think. Check out the link to The Labyrinth Society I've included in this post; it'll connect you with a directory, from which you'll more than likely find a labyrinth near you. The site also explains how a labyrinth works--and, yes, they do show up in mythology. If you cannot go to a labyrinth, for whatever reason, you can print out a finger labyrinth and use that. It's the same mental process. Maybe we could all plan to walk on on that day and report back on our blogs that evening. Just a suggestion, because I know if I don't plan something like this, I'll surely forget. I forgot it this year; it was May 1--and I was so caught up in getting set up for the Blogathon.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505661913107994459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792745986850454057.post-10663273702292397052010-05-26T04:57:09.829-07:002010-05-26T04:57:09.829-07:00This is fascinating! Would love to learn more though, so I hope you do write about this.

Ed, thanks for the link. I wish it were not so. Would that we all had this spiritual journey long before we brought other people into our lives. I wonder what kind of world that would be.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505661913107994459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792745986850454057.post-31140814789545583052010-05-25T17:01:08.906-07:002010-05-25T17:01:08.906-07:00well, i find one takes a spiritual quest when one ...well, i find one takes a spiritual quest when one has to. i dealt with some serious emotional issues late in life, when i felt i finally had to. a spiritual quest sounds fun, and it is, full of joy, but also full of pain. in my experience, a true spiritual journey involves changing one's self, and there can be no change without pain.Ed Pilollahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09139531369534586168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792745986850454057.post-17687851951941592932010-05-25T11:05:25.454-07:002010-05-25T11:05:25.454-07:00i've had, am having a spiritual journey. i had...i've had, am having a spiritual journey. i had to deal with some serious emotional issues from childhood as an adult. went through therapy but that was only the beginning of learning to trust people again. it is a maze, the cycle of violence. and we have to grope our way through. that's the image i saw as i journeyed, especially late in the journey did the image become clear. i would normally not leave a link here, but i wrote about the maze once. hope you don't mind, jackie. if interested, http://thinkingtoohard13.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/bent-is-beautiful-series-the-path-of-healing/Ed Pilollahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09139531369534586168noreply@blogger.com
